Parece ser que el estilo oriental ha superado por mucho varios aspectos del entretenimiento sobre el estilo oriental, ya que como recordamos Dragon Ball Z logró tener un gran éxito fuera de Japón por su animación innovadora, peleas, etc., no importa que la trama sea mala, las peleas importan bastante.
Esto vuelve a pasar una vez más, ya que el manga de One Piece está rompiendo records, ya que esta historia comenzó en 1997 en el manga, y a pesar de tan solo tener poco mas de 20 años con vida, ha logrado superar en ventas a todos los mangas de su región, eso incluye claro que si, a Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Los supercampeones, animes los cuales podrían compararse al éxito de este anime.
Sin embargo la historia no queda aquí, ya que Luffy ha luchado tanto a tal grado de que su éxito puede ser igual o superior a los grandes titanes del occidente, comics del Capitán América, X-Men, The Phantom o Tintin son los que uno puede observar en los más vendidos, sin embargo hace algunos años los primeros tres lugares eran Spider-man con 360 comics vendidos, Batman con 475 millones y Superman por encima de los 600 millones.
Como vemos antes había una gran diferencia entre el tercero y segundo lugar, pero ya no es el caso, One Piece ha logrado llegar a la marca de 450 millones de copias vendidas a nivel mundial , acercándose cada vez más a la marca del murciélago de la noche, hay que tomar en cuenta que este año se cumple el 80 aniversario de Batman, por lo cual su cifra podría aumentar drásticamente, pero eso no le quita el placer a One Piece de medir sus 20 años en el mercado con los dos titanes más longevos de DC, Batman y Superman.
Es probable que One Piece logre alcanzar la marca de Batman, aunque estos dos héroes de DC podrían darse un respiro puesto que el autor ya ha habado acerca del Final de One Piece.
